Ambassador Jan Deboutte was from March 2012 to March 2013, on behalf of Belgium, Chair of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (formerly: Task Force for International Cooperation on Holocaust Education, Remembrance, and Research). He is the former Ambassador of Belgium to India, with simultaneous accreditation to Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives. He has also been the Director-General Political and Multilateral Affairs as well as Director of European Affairs at the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
