Ms. Stefania Benaglia

Associate Researcher, Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS), Belgium

Stefania Benaglia is Associate Researcher at CEPS. She is also a Senior Expert in the Public Diplomacy Project of the European Union Delegation to India, and Associate Fellow at the Istituto Affari Internazionali (IAI) and she consults for the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Her research focuses on EU Foreign and Security policy, with specialisation on EU-India relations and more broadly on Asia.

In 2019 she has been nominated Top 40 Under 40 EU India Leader and 100esperte“International Affairs” (a selection of 100 Italian women, expert in STEM, Economy or International Affairs).

Between 2014 and 2017 Stefania moved to Delhi, working on EU-India defence cooperation for Istituto Affari Internazionali (IAI) and the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung. In 2009 Stefania joined the NATO Parliamentary Assembly and then the European Commission (EC), working for the Political & Security Committee (PSC) team and then representing the EC at the Political-Military Group (PMG). Previously she worked and studied also in Israel (at the International Institute of Counter-Terrorism), United States (at the Italian Embassy, at SAIS and at San Francisco State University), France (at Science Po Grenoble) and Spain (Leonardo da Vinci programme).
