Discussion program on ‘Possibilities of Waste Based Bio-economy In Nepal’ was held on 7 September, 2019 at Dining Park Restaurant, Kathmandu. Er Sagar Kafle, Fellow of Energy and Agriculture of AIDIA presented the border framework of his proposed research project on the theme of waste based bio-economy.

 

Hon’ble Ganesh Shah, Former Minister and Head for the Science and Technology wing of Nepal Communist Party chaired the event. Distinguished representative from Alternative Energy Promotion Centre (APEC), Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST), Research Centre for Applied Science and Technology (RECAST), Renewable Energy Confederation of Nepal (RECoN), Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC), Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), Nepal Telecom (NTC), Wind Power Nepal, Smart Waste Solution were presented in the discussion program.

 

Er. Kafle said his final research paper will provide the impetus for policy makers and new researcher to explore on the area of prospect of waste based bio-economy of Nepal.

 

Er Kafle will conduct the three month research work on the subject at Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK), Germany, primarily covering the policy and technological issues to exploit waste based bio-economy.
