Mr Shyam KC participated in SUSI on US Foreign Policy

Mr. Shyam KC, Research and Development Director of AIDIA completed his participation on Study of the U.S. Institute for Scholars on U.S. Foreign Policy from June 13 - July 26, 2019. This is a program of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs at the U.S. Department of State and administered by the University of Delaware. KC was the one among 18 participants representing 18 different countries.

 

The primary objective of the program was to explore the continuities and changes in U.S. foreign policy that shape responses to 21st century challenges. For this purpose program was focused on four interconnected modules: 1) The U.S.’s view of the world and its place in the global system; 2) Terrorism, radicalization, and cyber security in the U.S. and abroad; 3) U.S. immigration and securing borders; and 4) Finding a balance in U.S. aid, investment, trade, and international agreements.

 

Participants were offered lectures/roundtable discussions/open forums in different Universities and institutes including Princeton University, University of Texas-San Antonio, University of Texas, University of Pennsylvania, U.S. Army War College, Stratfor, CATO Institute, and Carnegie Endowment for International Peace among others.

 

As part of the program KC presented his final presentation on "Indo-Pacific Strategy and Belt & Road Initiative: Exploring Policy Pragmatism for Nepal".
