The Asian Institute of Diplomacy and International Affairs (AIDIA) successfully convened a round table discussion titled "Nepal-Uzbekistan: Strengthening Trade and Investment Ties" featuring H.E. Sardor Mirzayusupovich Rustambaev, Non-Resident Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Nepal.
 
The session served as a pivotal platform for bilateral economic dialogue, highlighting Uzbekistan's emergence as a formidable economic hub in Central Asia. Ambassador Rustambaev presented compelling data, noting a GDP surge to nearly $115 billion in 2024 and significant foreign direct investment inflows totaling $120 billion since 2018.
 
Key presentation by Mr. Abdulaziz Abduganiev, First Secretary at Embassy of Uzbekistan identified critical sectors for Nepali investment, including textiles, renewable energy, and mining. The discussion emphasized Uzbekistan’s strategic position as a gateway to a 300-million-strong regional market.
 
The meeting was joined by industry leaders, government representatives, and media.
