About Getoar MJEKU
Getoar Mjeku is a commercial and international lawyer from
Prishtina, born in 1987. He graduated magna cum laude from
Texas Lutheran University and cum laude from Southern
Methodist University. Licensed to practice in Texas, Mjeku has
worked with law firms in the U.S. and organizations in Kosovo.
He is also a VETËVENDOSJE Movement activist and has
represented plaintiffs in strategic litigation on public enterprise
abuses, environmental issues, and the energy sector.
From February to June 2020, Mjeku served as legal adviser to
Kosovo’s Minister of Economy, contributing to key decisions on
public enterprise management and trade relations with Serbia.
He was Deputy Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship, and
Trade from March 2021 to September 2022, overseeing legal
reforms and legislation on investment, trade, and competition.
Mjeku was appointed Deputy Minister of Economy in
September 2022.
