Sulochana Ramiah Mohan is Visiting Fellow at AIDIA. She serves as Deputy Editor at Ceylon Today since 2014, she oversees editorial supervision, content planning, content editing, fact-checking and making editorial decisions. She also collaborates with journalists internationally, particularly in the U.S., Europe, and Asia, maintaining high journalistic standards and ethical practices. She is a highly acclaimed journalist with prestigious awards including the National and Presidential Awards for environmental reporting, Editors’ Guild Award Journalist of the Year on reporting on Social Justice; Asia’s Woman Leader Awardee by Global Women’s Congress in Singapore 2023; Alumni of the International Visitor Leadership Programme, US State Department; Honorary Citizen of City of Pensacola, Florida, USA. Ramiah specializes in business, geo-economics, geopolitics, international and local politics, human rights, maritime trade, climate change, and Indian Ocean and Indo-Pacific affairs. Her work also includes in-depth investigative reporting and analyses on these topics, contributing to columns that shape public discourse. 

Her career includes serving as Deputy Editor of Business at Lakbima News (2008–2014), with a focus on economic indicators, industry analysis, and regulatory issues. She also held the role of Press Officer at Sri Lanka Tourism, planning events and managing media relations, and worked as a Sub Editor at Gulf Daily News and The Island Newspaper. Ramiah's dedication to accurate, ethical journalism and her contributions to social justice, business, and political discourse have solidified her reputation as a leader in the field.
